I’m gonna take a shot in the dark and say Andrew Cashner. My reasoning is that I looked up the 1st HRs of all the position players and can’t find one that had his 1st vs. the Padres. Details like that are harder to find for pitchers, but I know that Cash had 2 HRs for the Cubs. Rivera’s 1st HR was vs. Cliff Lee.

Rene rivera in 2005 off of woody williams. Cash only has 1 career hr that he hit last year against the dbacks and then received that hilarious silent treatment in the dugout.

I’m feeling bummed out that you didn’t count my answer for Randy Jones. So I better answer this one with more than a number. The correct answer is Rene Rivera. He wore #44 last year which is a number that I feel warrants consideration for retiring seeing as how Jake Peavy and #35 (Randy Jones) had such similar stats. Same number of wins (92) nearly identical ERA (3.30 to 3.29) and they both earned a Cy Young award.
