As opening day gets closer the Padre made some anticipated moves today sending the followers players to minor league camp.
OPTIONED:
- Jeudy Valdez – Inf
REASSIGNED:
- Jaff Decker – INF
- Jedd Gyorko – INF
- Miles Mikolas – RHP
- Matt Palmer – RHP
Mikolas, Gyorko, and Decker had strong springs. Decker hit .271 with 2 HR’s and 8 RBI, Gyorko hit .313 with 6 RBI, while Mikolas was 1-0, posting a 1.35 ERA in 6 outings.
The Padres now have 41 players in camp, including 10 non-roster invitees.
Best of luck to all of these players as they start their minor league seasons, and work to be ready to help the big league club when called upon.
