The Padres announced today some changes to the March 2014 exhibition game schedule. The Padres will still host the Cleveland Indians for two exhibition games in San Diego prior to the regular season opener, but both games will be played at the University of San Diego’s Fowler Park and Cunningham Field. The game on Friday, March 28 will start at 6:10 p.m. PT, and Saturday’s game on March 29 will have first pitch at 1:10 p.m. PT.
“We’re thrilled to be able to provide a unique showcase of Major League Baseball in an intimate college setting here in San Diego,” said Pads President/CEO Mike Dee. “As this is still spring training, these contests will bring a spring training-like atmosphere to our great fans in San Diego. We appreciate the support of Ky Snyder and the entire USD Athletics Department as well as the Cleveland Indians.”
Also, the game vs. the Mexico City Red Devils, which was scheduled to be played on Thursday, March 27 at Petco Park, has been cancelled due to the change in the Padres’ Opening Day schedule, which is now Sunday March 30th against the Dodgers.
Tickets for both exhibition games will be sold by USD. Padres Season Ticket Members and select USD supporters will be given early access to purchase tickets. Pricing and additional details will be announced in the coming weeks.
Look forward to seeing you out there!
