Padres and Indians Rained Out Tonight

Wet visiting dugout at Jacobs field. No baseball today.

The rain came, and the rain conquered tonight here in Cleveland forcing the game to be cancelled.  The teams will match up tomorrow for a single game as regularly scheduled.  They will then play a double header on Wednesday.

The new pitching rotation is as follows:

  • Tomorrow – Tyson Ross
  • Game 1 Wednesday – Eric Stults
  • Game 2 Wednesday – Robbie Erlin

Also under the “new” roster rules instated a couple of years ago the Padres will be allowed to add a 26th man to the roster for the double header.  It’s the first time the Padres will get the chance to expand their roster to 26, and it will almost certainly be a relief pitcher on the 40-man roster.  Side note on the 26th man – if the double header were to be played tomorrow the extra man would only be eligible for the 2nd game of the twin billing.  However, since the double dip is Wednesday, that player will be available for both games.

We’ll try it again tomorrow folks!
